About this template
An editable Excel register of the plant and equipment you own, hire or control. Record each item with its make, model, serial number and location, the Schedule 5 registration check, the high risk work licence class operators need, and the inspection and maintenance intervals. The next due dates work themselves out and turn amber and red. A record rule column shows when the law sets a period for keeping records. No law requires a general plant register: it helps you show you have met the duties that do exist.
What Is Included In Our Plant and Equipment Register?
- A Start Here sheet: type your details once and they appear on every sheet and printed page
- One row per item: asset ID, description, category, make, model, serial number, owner or hirer, location and responsible person
- A Schedule 5 registration check with design and item registration numbers, expiry date and where the registration document is kept
- The high risk work licence class needed to operate, from the Schedule 3 list, and the operators you have authorised
- Inspection and maintenance source (manufacturer, competent person or annual), intervals, last done and next due dates
- A presence-sensing safeguard flag and a record rule that shows the keeping period that applies
- Risk assessment and SWMS references, defect or tag-out status, and in service, out of service or disposed
- A plain-English summary of the rules on plant maintenance, plant records, registration and licences

Is it compliant with Queensland law?
It's written around Queensland's Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Regulation 2011. Tailor it to your site, consult your workers and review it whenever conditions change; no template can guarantee compliance on its own.
What if it isn't right for my job?
If it doesn't match its description or has a fault, we'll fix it, and if we can't, we'll refund you (or give you store credit if you'd prefer). Check the sample pages first, as we don't refund a change of mind.
