About this template

An editable Excel register of your extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels. Record each item, when you last checked it, when a service provider last serviced it and who did it. The next check and next service dates are worked out from the intervals you enter, and overdue items turn red. No law requires a fire extinguisher register: it helps you show you have met the duties that do exist, including the maintenance records the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 asks for in covered buildings.

What Is Included In Our Fire Extinguisher and Fire Equipment Inspection Register?

  • A Start Here sheet: type your details once and they appear on every sheet and printed page
  • One row for each extinguisher, fire blanket or hose reel, with location, type, size and tag number
  • In-house checks with the interval you choose and an automatic next check date
  • Professional service with servicer, licence number, report reference and an automatic next service date
  • Defects found, the action needed, a repair due date and an Action Status that shows open and overdue repairs
  • A covered building column for the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 record-keeping duties
  • Status, replaced or removed date and notes, with the history kept on the sheet
  • Colour highlighting and counts of overdue and upcoming checks and services
  • A plain-English summary of the Queensland rules, with the points that are not settled said plainly
