About this template
For roof tilers, roof restorers and builders who re-bed and point ridge and hip tiles on existing roofs. It follows the job from the roof inspection and access set-up through removing old pointing, mixing mortar and bedding the tiles, to washing off and handover.
Re-bedding and pointing is repair and maintenance of a structure and is construction work (WHS Regulation s 289(1)), unless it is minor repair work (s 289(3)(d)). Work with a risk of a fall of more than 2 metres is high risk construction work (s 291(a)), so the falls item is ticked and a SWMS is required by law (s 299). Tick the asbestos item if old sheeting may be disturbed, and the silica item if power tools are used on old pointing. Laying new tiles and roof restoration need their own SWMS.
