About this template

Suits licensed gas fitters and plumbing and gas businesses installing gas pipework and appliances. It covers planning and isolation, handling cylinders and appliances, pipework, hot work, pressure and leak testing, purging, commissioning and handover.

The high risk construction work boxes for work on or near chemical, fuel or refrigerant lines (WHS Regulation s 291(j)), used here for the fuel gas piping to the appliance, and for an area that may have a flammable atmosphere (s 291(l)), because purging and testing release gas, are ticked. Tick any other box that applies, such as work on or near gas distribution mains (s 291(i)), energised electrical installations or services, or a fall of more than 2 metres. Gas work itself needs a gas work licence under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004, whatever you tick.
