About this template
For roof tilers, roofing contractors and builders who cut concrete or clay roof tiles on site. It follows the job from the silica assessment and cutting station set-up through saw and grinder checks, cutting at the ground and on the roof, to wet clean-up and waste.
Cutting roof tiles for a roof is construction work. Work with a risk of a fall of more than 2 metres is high risk construction work (WHS Regulation s 291(a)). Cutting concrete or clay tiles with a power tool is processing of a crystalline silica substance under chapter 8A, and the Queensland silica code treats work with respirable crystalline silica risk as the contaminated atmosphere item (s 291(l)), so both items are ticked. A SWMS is required by law for high risk construction work (s 299). Cutting tiles on the ground away from the roof is a different task; you may then untick the falls item if no one could fall more than 2 metres.
