About this template

For builders, formworkers, crane crews and screen installers who fit perimeter containment screening to slab edges and building faces. It follows the work in order, from planning the lift and checking power lines and wind to anchors, crane lifts, fixing at the edge, adjustments and handover. Scaffolds, safety nets and temporary edge protection need separate SWMS.

Work with a risk of a fall of more than 2 metres (WHS Regulation s 291(a)) is ticked for you, because screens are fitted at building edges where a person could fall that far, so a SWMS is required before the work starts (s 299). Tick the other items that apply on the form: the energised services item (s 291(k)) if an overhead line is close, the powered mobile plant item (s 291(o)) when a mobile crane, EWP or forklift moves in the work area, and the traffic corridor item (s 291(n)) if the work is beside a road or footpath in use. Rigging, dogging and crane lifting need the licences set out in the document.
