About this template

For concrete finishers, floor coating contractors and builders who prepare and resurface concrete floors and slabs. It follows the work from site set-up and silica assessment through shot blasting, priming, mixing, spreading and curing.

Grinding or shot blasting the concrete to prepare the floor is the normal start of an overlay job and can release respirable crystalline silica dust, so the contaminated or flammable atmosphere item (WHS Regulation s 291(l), item 11) is ticked; untick it if the floor needs no mechanical preparation. A SWMS is required by law for high risk construction work (s 299). Tick any other item that applies, such as a fall of more than 2 metres.
